Approval testing of welders

Welder certificates issued by an examination body in one country must be acceptable

to examining bodies in other European countries. There are, however, certain exceptions:

national regulations may require that only certification bodies in the country concerned may

 issue welder certificates for particular types of work. This restriction will disappear when all EU directives for welded products are implemented.
