If the structure will be subject to fatigue loads, changes in sections must be designed

so that there is as little stress concentration as possible..

If possible, position welds in low-stress areas. Avoid positioning welds too closely

to each other. Avoid also restraining welds .

Remember that it must be possible actually to produce the welds .

Design joints as welded joints, and not as riveted joints with reinforcements .

Corners can be reinforced as shown in shows other ples of welded corners and corner reinforcements
