The metal powder 

Alloying elements such as nickel, chromium, molybdenum and manganese can be

incorporated in the powder in order to modify the mechanicaland metallurgicalprop-

erties of the weld.

Adding metal powder alone produces a slag-free cored wire that has a higher produc-

tivity than a flux-cored wire.
