Four lateral bending test 

Four lateral bending test samples and two transverse

traction test samples were prepared in accordance with the

ASME IX standard.Figure 5 demonstrates the position

and amount of test samples removed from the welded plate

in order to perform the respective traction and bending

tests.The bending tests serve to assess the ductility of the

welded joint as well as detect slight discontinuities,as

these tend to propagate during the test.The traction tests

aimed to determine the traction resistance and the rupture

point of the respective test samples.
