Ceramic welding tape allows faster welding speeds and eventually greater fabrication capability. The strip welding tape produce smooth profile, flat and clean weld underbeads. Most of the operations are now functional on double sided welding, but with advancement of welding technology like ceramic weld backing tape and ceramic strip welding, welders can now carry out welds from one side only. This has advantage, as it eliminates the need for expensive weld preparations and demand of back gouging.

New welding tape roots are flat and clean, so the post operated dressings and cleaning expense are dramatically decreased.
